Job Description / Responsibility
- WorldFish, Bangladesh and South Asia is hiring M&E Specialist funded by USAID called ‘ECOFISH’ in order to meet its vision: “Be the research partner of choice, delivering high impact, transformative and equitable fisheries and aquaculture solutions to reduce poverty and malnutrition in Bangladesh and South Asia”. The key objective of the ECOFISH project is to improve the resilience of estuarine ecosystem and livelihoods of communities reliant on the Hilsha fishery.
- Under the direct supervision of Project Leader of ECOFISH Project and with the support and working with ECOFISH project staff – design and plan in developing sampling framework to carryout effective monitoring and evaluation of different activities to be implemented under WorldFish in the ECOFISH project which will work to increase farm household income and productivity, focusing on improved cereal and fish cropping systems as well as other high value agriculture opportunities, this position will be required to accomplish the following delivering:
- Assist in developing and implementing beneficiary level monitoring and evaluation
- Design survey and monitoring programs of the ECOFISHBD Project and prepare field protocols
- Assist to develop, test and utilize ECOFISHBD link with WF core M & E including relevant formats for information gathering, sharing and utilization
- Demonstrate in the field implementation of the survey and monitoring programs
- Capable of organizing Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) survey on sample base
- Check data quality and provide advice for its improvement; supervise data management relating to surveys and monitoring
- Assist in report and relevant document preparation on surveys and monitoring
- Closely work with Bangladesh Program Priority Leader (PPL) of Capacity Building development.

Educational Requirements
- Master’s degree preferably in Statistics/ Agricultural Economics/ Economics Sociology/ Social Development Studies
- Candidates having advanced degree/ trainings will be given preference.
Experience Requirements
- At least 10 year(s)
Additional Job Requirements
- 10 years working experience in the area of M&E activities, survey design and report preparation
- Preference will be given to the candidates having experience in USAID funded large scale project
- Excellent communication skills- and an ability to make presentations and represent WF with a variety of audiences
- Sound technical knowledge on M&E, aquaculture and or agriculture, extension, training and dissemination
- A good understanding and skills in M&E and data management particularly an understanding of statistics as it relates to M&E and the use of statistical data management tools such as SPSS
- Capable of management activities including project planning, implementation and report writing
- Ability to thinks clearly and analytically, setting priority, meeting deadlines, solving problems and timely making appropriate decision
- Excellent data analyses skills, producing tables/graphs with interpretation and the ability to make verbal presentations
- Strong in essential computer software/packages like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, SPSS or similar software
- Excellent proficiency of spoken and written English with strong research and writing skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
- Hard working and used to frequent field visit with good physical fitness
- Proven ability to successfully lead a multi-disciplinary team and partners at all levels from senior international organizations and national government, to field staff
- Preferred Bangladeshi national, although an expat with similar experiences would be entertained.
- Positions are open at Dhaka based for Bangladeshi national (NRS).
